An Introduction to Health
Mimi Guarneri, a physician and cardiologist, wrote that at the essence of healing is listening to people's stories, both in and of itself, as well as to find the underlying problems and cures.     This ability to listen to, as well as share, stories is at the foundation of a classical education.     This course begins with a reading of The Blue Zones: Lessons for Living Longer from the People Who've Lived the Longest by Dan Buettner; then proceeds to In Defense of Food by Michael Pollan and Born to Run by Christopher McDougall. The course concludes with The Heart Speaks by Mimi Guarneri.
